I had the privilege of competing in the national CyberChallenge.IT 2024 in Turin with MadrHacks, the ethical hacking team from the University of Udine. The competition brought together 43 universities from across Italy in an intense Attack-and-Defense CTF, testing both technical skill and teamwork under pressure.

I’m proud to share that our team secured 10th place in the national standings, a strong result considering the fierce competition and unexpected technical challenges we faced during the event.

During the CTF, our team encountered some technical issues that prevented us from climbing higher in the rankings. Despite these obstacles, we demonstrated resilience, adaptability, and deep problem-solving skills: all crucial qualities in the world of cybersecurity.

The experience reinforced the importance of preparation, collaboration, and maintaining a clear strategy under pressure.

In addition to our national CTF performance, MadrHacks was awarded 1st place in the CyberCup.IT 2024. This recognition was a major highlight of the event and celebrated the dedication, teamwork, and technical expertise of our group.

Our mascot, “Bepi Frico”, was there to cheer us on and capture the spirit of our team during the award ceremony.

Competing at the national level was an incredible learning experience. Working alongside such talented teammates and representing the University of Udine has motivated me to continue improving my cybersecurity skills and competing at the highest level.

I am excited for upcoming competitions and opportunities to apply what I’ve learned in both practical and strategic contexts.
